I picked Brendan up early Friday so we could go outside and play since it was such a gorgeous day. I grabbed my camera and we got ready to go to the playground. I figured he would want to ride his bike. I figured wrong. He wanted to ride in the bike seat on his dad’s bike. I obliged, but I had to leave the camera at home. Tom’s bike is too tall for me and I couldn’t figure out how to adjust the seat. Steering the bike with a 30 pound kid on the front, while holding onto my camera, seemed like too much work.
An older boy walked past the playground carrying a football and Brendan proclaimed, “I want to play that with him.” I told him we could go home and play soccer in our backyard so that’s what we were doing when Tom got home.
Tom had the idea to bring out his remote control truck, which is actually pretty fun to watch. Unfortunately, Brendan wanted to play with it instead of drive it with the remote so we had to put it away.
We had a blast. I had a Nerf gun fight with the little boy who lives next door. I told Tom I didn’t have that much fun on our last date. It makes me excited for spring! Since it was so “warm,” we headed to the zoo Saturday morning. Our objective was to see the lion cubs. Unfortunately, it was nap time for them. We could just barely see them sleeping. Maybe next time.
